Welcome to the History of Maths and x website. History of maths and x was a briefly-alive project. The idea was to develop a series of topics, x, which would cover maths history and adjacent areas. Each was covered in a talk at the University of Nottingham that was available to view online and in an article for iSquared Magazine, accompanied by an audio podcast offering further information in an episode of the Travels in a Mathematical World podcast, released by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. For various reasons (not least that I left my jobs at Nottingham and the IMA, stopping putting out the Travels podcast and iSquared stopped publishing issues), only two topics were covered. They are available here as an archive.
